Marta Grimoldi
Como (Italy)

Description

"I write with light, yet I inhabit the shadows." Marta Grimoldi (born 1990, IED graduate 2012) is a photographic artist who transforms personal experience into visual poetry. From her studio amidst the atmospheric landscapes of the province of Como, she creates works where bodies and nature merge in a dense, painterly chiaroscuro. Her photography is an act of inner excavation—a search for beauty within deep blacks and the truths whispered by natural light

Description:

Drawing inspiration from Ovid's 'Metamorphoses', and in particular from the myth of Daphne and Apollo, the artist has developed a photographic project that explores the profound connection between humankind and nature. The tale of Daphne's transformation into a laurel tree serves as a source of inspiration for exploring the intimate connection that unites the human body with the natural elements. Forms and colours intertwine, giving rise to images that evoke an emotional and spiritual transformation, generated by the interaction between body and environment. The subject thus emerges as a living symbol of change. Fine Art print on Hahnemuhle Fibre Matt 200gr. Black wood frame.
